Here\u2019s what counts as a dental emergency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pain:<\/strong> If you have a toothache or another type\nof persistent pain in the mouth, this justifies a visit to the emergency\ndentist.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mouth Injury:<\/strong> If you have an impact of laceration\nto the mouth, it should be looked at by a dentist right away.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Bleeding:<\/strong> If bleeding in the mouth isn\u2019t\nstopping on its own, this is a dental emergency.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Knocked-Out or Loose Tooth:<\/strong> Is you have\nexperienced an injury that has resulted in a dislodged tooth, you should see a\ndentist within an hour!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common Emergency Dental Care Procedures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Root Canal Therapy:<\/strong> If you have a\ntoothache, your dentist may treat it with a root canal. This involves removing\nthe decayed part of the tooth along with the nerves and blood supply found in\nthe inner chamber of the tooth.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Extraction:<\/strong> If your tooth is severely decayed\nor damaged, your dentist may have no choice but to extract it. This is a common\nemergency procedure, but if you are able, you should strongly consider a root\ncanal instead.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Filling:<\/strong> If you have lost a filling, your\ndentist will likely replace it. This is also used to treat cavities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Tooth Reattachment:<\/strong> If you have had your\ntooth knocked out as a result of an injury or accident, your dentist will attempt\nto reattach it by placing it back into the socket. Ideally, you should rinse\noff your knocked-out tooth and attempt to place it into the socket yourself\nbefore you arrive to the dental office.
