Dentist – Brampton, ON

Get to Know Dr. Alisha Badwal

Originating from Brampton, Dr. Badwal has extensive experience in providing dental care for underserved and marginalized populations, and she’s always looking forward to improving lives through people’s smiles. The most rewarding part of her day as a dentist is building meaningful connections with patients and educating them on their oral health. For her, it’s a privilege to not only enhance smiles but to contribute to healthier, happier lives!

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Growing up, Dr. Badwal struggled with chronic headaches and migraines, and taking over-the-counter pain medications was the only recommendation from her family doctor. After meeting her new dentist, it was found that she clenched her jaw overnight, and she was provided with nightguards, which quickly improved her situation. From her discussions with her dentist, she grew inspired to pursue dentistry. Today, she aspires to provide patients with the same level of expert dental care to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Badwal attended McMaster University before studying at the University of Toronto for her dental doctorate. She’s provided exceptional dentistry for those in underserved communities and performed various operations like new patient examinations, restorations, extractions, and root canal treatments in Toronto. She’s also worked at Mount Sinai Hospital as well as the Center for Addiction and Mental Health dental clinic, gaining hands-on experience in offering tailored dentistry while refining her skills in communication and treatment planning. She remains committed to attending continuing education courses and workshops to expand her expertise, and she’s also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

When she isn’t at the office, Dr. Badwal spends much of her time with her family and loved ones. She enjoys having a quiet afternoon with a book and a cup of tea whenever she gets the chance. She also likes being active and working out in her downtime, and she’s passionate about crafts and DIY projects around her home. One fun fact about her is that she likes collecting magnets from every city she visits.
