While our office is closed for regular dental treatment in accordance with the guidelines set out by our governing college, and to comply with Public Health recommendations, we are still here to help you!

We now offer virtual online consultations through the use of Teledentistry.

What Is Teledentistry?

Teledentistry involves the use of online technology to provide private, safe, and secure virtual video consultations from the comfort of your home.
Our video consultations are hosted on a HIPAA-compliant cloud environment using AES-256 bit encryption.

Get advice, instructions or a prescription from your trusted doctors without having to come into the office. CHATTING & VIDEO CONFERENCING are NOW AVAILABLE on a secure platform at Salvaggio Dentistry. If you have a clinical question, a concern or an emergency, you can connect with your doctor remotely!! Dr. Salvaggio or Dr. Al Khoury will advise you via this secure portal or ask to see you in the office at a mutually agreed upon time (if absolutely necessary). SALVAGGIO DENTISTRY HAS YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY AS ITS NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

When you connect with one of our doctors remotely, we will attempt to help you out so that we can all maintain physical distancing and self-isolation. However, should we determine that you need to be seen in person, rest assured that Salvaggio Dentistry has adequate protective equipment put aside for extreme emergency cases. We are also wiping down surfaces more regularly and have abundant hand sanitizer for you. What is a Frenectomy?

A frenum is the thin band of tissue that attaches the lip to the gums. There are several frenum attachments in your mouth, the three important locations being the front upper and lower lips, between the two front teeth and the attachment of the tongue to the floor of the mouth. The frenum can lead to issues with the spacing of the teeth and even speech problems in some cases.

Xerostomia is the name for a constantly dry mouth. It is caused by a reduction in salivary production of the salivary glands in the oral cavity. Dry mouth may have several different causes but is always something that needs to be addressed to maintain good oral health.

Learn The Dental Benefits Of Fluoride

Helps To Prevent Cavities

Fluoride works by strengthening the enamel of your teeth (which is the outer layer of your teeth) to prevent the penetration of oral bacteria and acids. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral in the earth and is in some areas naturally occurring in water. In some municipalities, fluoride is added to the water in around 0.7 ppm (parts per million) to help reduce cavities in the population. Fluoride can also be administered topically in the form of toothpaste, mouthwash and topical applications at your dental office. Fluoride administered in office may consist of mouth rinse, fluoride gel, varnish or foam.

What is Pericoronitis and how is it treated?

Pericoronitis is the inflammation of the tissue that is partially covering a partially erupted tooth in the mouth. Often it occurs with partially erupted wisdom teeth that don’t have space to erupt into the mouth fully, but sometimes it can even happen with the eruption of the first or second molars. The gum tissue that partially covers an erupting tooth is called an operculum, and the inflammation of that tissue is called pericoronitis. Pericoronitis is diagnosed based on signs and symptoms gathered during a clinical analysis, as well as a potential x-ray taken to rule out any other causes.
